The Battle of the Black Swamp is a Challenge Cup between the Fort Wayne Curling Club (FWCC) and the Bowling Green Curling Club (BGCC). The Fort Wayne Curling Club currently leads the series 3-0 and retains possession of the Black Swamp Cup.
A Challenge Cup is a points-based mini-spiel (typically held in 3 draws on a single day) in which teams earn points for their home club by winning games, winning ends and scoring points. Values may vary from event to event, but here as an example is the 2014 Black Swamp Cup results. In this event, there were 3 draws (sets of games) and teams scored 20 points for their home club by winning a game, 5 points for their home club for each end that they won and 1 point for their home club for each point that they scored.
