UPDATE 9/11/2025: We are rescheduling the Open House to a few weeks in the future (most likely October 4th) due to some shenanigans involving the ice room, a broken dehumidifier, and a sad Adam Vetter. Stay tuned for updates!
Welcome back, curlers!
It’s been a long (and toasty) summer, but the wait is finally over—it’s time to get back to the club!
Ice Captain Adam Vetter and a crew of dedicated volunteers have been hard at work all summer rebuilding our ice pond to put our ice issues (icessues) behind us. Now it’s time to celebrate! We’re kicking off the season with an Open House for both members and the public. (Yes, it’s short notice—but even if it’s just six of us hanging out, eating hot dogs, drinking beer, and throwing rocks, we’ll call it a win.)
Here are the deets:
- Saturday, September 13, 2025
- Open to members from 12:00 pm - ???
- Open to the public from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
- Mini Learn to Curls for the public every half-hour
- Open Ice for Members all day* (Time to shake off the rust!)
- Possible full Learn-to-Curl session from 6:00 - 8:00 pm if there is interest
- Free hot dogs, burgers, and snacks (with vegetarian/vegan options)
- The bar will be open, featuring a special tropical-themed cocktail menu to properly bid the summer farewell
- Pay your membership dues and sign up for fall leagues on the spot!
*At least one sheet will always be available—we’ll adjust based on Learn-to-Curl interest
We can always use some volunteers for food prep, bartending, and LTC instruction, so reach out to Lindsey D (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) if you want to help out. We hope to see you there!
