Are you interested in trying curling? Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fort Wayne Curling Club is not offering our traditional twice monthly Learn to Curl sessions because of the exposure risk of bringing 32 previously unexposed people into a confined space.
Instead, we are offering more intimate "Friends and Family" events which provide personalized instruction for 5-8 people who have been previously exposed to one another. These sessions can be scheduled any time that we are not running leagues or other events, pending availability of our volunteer instructors. Leagues are currently scheduled Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 pm - 9 pm.
Sessions generally provide for 2+ hours on the ice. For the first 30-45 minutes, our instructors will train participants in the delivery of the stone, sweeping, game rules and basic strategy. The remainder of the ice time will be gameplay with our instructors as coaches.
The cost of these Friends and Family Events is $250 for 5-8 people. Larger groups can potentially be accommodated, please contact us with details.
Masks are required at all times in our facility except when actively consuming food or beverage. This is to ensure the safety of both our participants and our instructors. Additionally, all participants must sign a liability waiver. Participants under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by their parent or guardian. No exceptions to either the mask or liability waiver requirements.
